Steel City to host grand finale of ‘Tara Rum Pum’


Rourkela: The grand finale of ‘Tara Rum Pum’, a mega dance reality show on MBC TV, will be held in the Steel City on December 22, chief operating officer (COO) of MBC TV K P Mishra announced here today.

The highly popular dance show has been running on MBC TV for the last six months and has already completed 52 episodes.

The decision to organise the mega event in Rourkela was taken in acknowledgement of the fact that four of the seven contestants left on the show are from the city, Mishra said adding the rich cultural heritage of the steel city also made it an ideal venue. The four finalists from the city are Tanushree Panda, Ushashree Swain, Aparna Padhi and Smurti Panda.

“It will be the biggest ever such show. It will be a night to remember for the people of Rourkela,” Mishra promised.

“Some of the biggest names in the field of entertainment in the state and outside will perform on a mammoth stage specially erected for the show with a matching LED screen,” MBC TV consultant Sandip Mohanty, who briefed media persons along with Mishra at Hotel Radhika Regency here yesterday.

Mohanty informed that rope lifts, pyrotechniques, water shower and HD production would all add to the grandeur of the show which would be aired on MBC TV from 8.30 pm on New Year’s Eve and continue till 12.30 am. For the first time ever, the who’s who of Odia entertainment industry and the best dancing talents in the state will all be on one platform, he said. Apart from the most popular names from the world of glamour and comedy, the programme would also feature the winners of the first three seasons of ‘Dance India Dance’, the hugely popular reality show on television.

The winners of this season of ‘Tara Rum Pum’ would get performance contracts with the channel and hefty prize money thus making them stars in their chosen field, Mohanty said.
