‘Handbook of ICS Agreements 2014-15’ of Rourkela Steel Plant released
Rourkela, Aug 25: In a function organized at HRD Centre today the
‘Handbook for ICS Agreements -2014-15’ of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was
released by G S Prasad, CEO.
Ashwani Kumar, ED (Works), V Sankarnarayanan, GM Incharge (MS) and DK
Mishra, DGM (BE) graced the dais along with the CEO. Executive Directors,
General Managers as well HODs of various departments had attended the function.
In his address the RSP CEO congratulated the Business Excellence
collective for the painstaking efforts made by it in making the ICS Agreement
book 2014-15 a reality. He urged the participating Customer and Supplier
departments to excel in their performance as required by the ICS model.
He also expressed his desire that the Engineering and project
consulting organizations involved in expansion of RSP to be included in ICS
Model of RSP as suppliers so as to bridge the gap between the delivery by them
and the expectation of RSP from them.
On the occasion, Prasad released the ‘Handbook of ICS Agreements
2014-15’ containing agreements between customer and supplier departments as
well as several additional features.
Kumar and Sankarnarayanan deliberated upon the virtues of ICS model
and exhorted the gathering to take the process seriously. They stressed upon
its strict implementation so as to reap the desired benefits.
Head of Business Excellence, DK Mishra delivered a brief outline of
ICS model and its benefits in his welcome address.
It
is noteworthy that the handbook features 159 numbers of ICS agreements involving
26 customer and 39 supplier departments. Three new departments namely Sinter
Plant-III, Finance and Accounts as well as Personnel and Administration have
been included in the ICS process for the first time in 2014-15.
This besides, the
booklet also features the maintenance system in RSP, a brief about EFQM business
excellence model and CII-ITC sustainability model, RSP unit Enterprise score
card along with departmental quality, environmental and OHSAS objectives.
