‘Literature festival encourage youth to pursue literature’
Bhubaneswar,
June 11: Appreciating the initiatives of Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF),
eminent poet, critic and essayist Kedarnath Singh today said that the greatest contribution of any
literary festivals that are organized anywhere is to encourage the youth to
pursue literature.

Kalinga
Literary Youth award was conferred upon thirty promising writers of Odisha.
These awardees, working to promote Odia language, poetry and literature, were
chosen from 30 different districts of Odisha.
Various sessions
on Mystic Kalinga, Akbar, Indian cinema, short love stories, resurgence of
nationalism, exclusion, poetry and popular lyrics was also staged.
The event
was graced by Tarun Vijay, Ashok Maheswari, Bijayananda Singh, Zameer Uddin
Shah, Vineet Kumar, Shazi Zaman, KLF Director Kamala Kanta Dash, Sagar Sarhadi,
Soumendra Padhi, Monedeepa Sahoo, Baqir Shameem, Santanu Ganguly, Ravish Kumar,
Vineet Kumar, Grindranath Jha, Aruna Mohanty, Subas Pani, Meera Das, Ileana
Citaristi and Kedar Mishra.
Inaugurated
the fourth edition of KLF, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Art acts as
a medium to explain literature to common people. KLF should be appreciated for
creating a fusion of art and literature.”
The
two-day festival at Mayfair received huge appreciation by followers on social
media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Popular Twitter celebrities like
Anand Neel kantan, Sudarsan Pattnaik, Suhasini Haider, Ravi Mantha, Tarun Vijay
shared widely about thought provoking and entertaining sessions at KLF. The KLF
also received huge appreciation from Team Bahubali and its renowned director SS
Rajamouli.
