Rourkela: “Our success places more responsibility on our shoulders” said G S Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), while addressing a gathering at ‘Annual performance review and Award Function,’ here today at Gopabandhu Auditorium.

The grand function was organized to take stock of the performance and achievements of the Steel plant, award the individual employees and departments that have made commendable contributions as well as firm up the road map for the new financial year 2013-14.

Inaugurating the programme, Prasad dwelt upon the performance of the Steel Plant in the year 2012-13. He added, “During 2012-13, our performance has been much better than the previous year in the areas of production, productivity and quality. With this performance as well as the cumulative performance over the last two years, we have truly established our steel plant as one of the best in the Company.”

He was all praise for the stakeholders who have given tremendous support in achieving this. The CEO also congratulated the Projects and Works collective for the commissioning of the New Sinter Complex and the Raw Material circuit of Ore Bedding and Blending Plant Phase-II. “It’s time to impart the final thrust towards completing the projects so that we can start reaping the benefits as soon as possible. 2013 will be a watershed year as most of the new units will commence production and our capacity will jump significantly,” he said.

The CEO released the Annual Business Plan booklet and Telephone directory on this occasion.

S N Roy, ED (Works), D Basu, ED (P&A), R K Nehru, ED (MM), M K Das, ED (Projects), S K Acharya, ED (Projects) and Dr. S K Mishra, Director In-charge (M&HS) were present on the occasion.

The CEO along with other dignitaries presented awards to individual employees, teams and departments for their outstanding performance in 2012-13. It is noteworthy that the Blast Furnace department bagged the Champion of the Year Trophy for its superb performance.

Earlier, S N Roy made a presentation on the performance of the plant in 2012-13 and elaborated on the commendable achievements of RSP in several areas.

V Shankarnarayanan, GM In-charge (Services) and Chairman, Organizing Committee welcomed the gathering, while N Bhattacharya, GM (Utilities) proposed a vote of thanks. S C Prasad, DGM In-charge (R&C Lab) and Mrs. Archana Satpathy, Manager (PR) was present.
