Illegal sale of kerosene; two detained, 700 litres seized

Bhubaneswar: The Civil Supplies Department officials have seized 700 litres of kerosene, meant for the Public Distribution System (PDS), from two persons in the city on Friday.

The accused are identified as Sarbeswar Patnaik and Purna Chandra Sahu of unit-4 market where they were running the illegal sale of kerosene in their cycle store.

According to sources, to put a tap on the malpractices in the unit-4 area, the Civil Supplies Department officials have geared them up to conduct raids in all the shops.

The team seized 700 litres of kerosene, meant for public distribution and detained the duo Patnaik and Sahu for selling in open market. Interrogation in to the incident is going on, said the official sources.
