One dead, three injured in road mishap at Baramunda over-bridge

Bhubaneswar: A 24-year-old woman was killed and three passenger including driver were seriously injured following a road accident at Baramunda over-bridge here on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Deba kalyani Tripathy who hails from Puri and was travelling in her family car (Registration no- OR02K1010) for some personal work in the city, police sources said.

The car met an accident while the driver trying to overtake a motor vehicle lost control and collided with divider of the Baramunda over-bridge. During its journey from Khandagiri to CRPF, the car turned twice after it collided with the bridge, sources said.

Tripathy died at the spot while the other passengers including the driver in a critical condition rushed to Capital hospital here and later referred to a private hospital after their health condition deteriorated.

Plus two exams to start from March 1

Rourkela: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha today declared that it would conduct Plus Two examinations from March 1 to 30. While examination will be held for all the three streams- Arts, Science and Commerce, exam for vocational education will also be held during the month. Examination for theory papers will be held from March 1 to March 23 and those for practical papers will be held on the rest of the days, informed Yashobant Behera, Controller of Examinations, CHSE. He also informed that the examinations will be conducted in two sittings to accommodate all the students. While around three lakh students are expected to appear in the plus two examinations in the State, examination forms can be filled from January 2 to 21.

RSP CEO lays stress on profitability

Rourkela: Enhancement of profitability and NSR through improved despatch should be the prime objective of the employees, G S Prasad, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) said today during his visit to the units that have achieved the APP targets in the month of November. Accompanied by S N Roy, ED (Works), the CEO went on a visit to the Sinter Plant-II, Pipe Coating Plant, SWPP, Hot Strip Mill and R & C Lab. At each of these departments, Prasad interacted with employees and lauded them for their excellent contribution and discussed about the future endeavours.
