Odia girl secures 199th rank in Civil Service Examination

Bhubaneswar, May 11: Odia girl Sagarika Nath came off with flying colours in the recently announced Civil Service Examination 2015 conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). She has secured 199th rank in the merit list and selected for the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS).

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), among others.

This year 1078 candidates have been selected for different Civil Services posts including 180 IAS, 45 IFS and 150 IPS posts.

Daughter of Pradeep Kumar Nath and Smt. Kalpana Nath, the proud girl Sagarika had her schooling at DPS (NALCO) Angul and DPS (NALCO) Damanjodi and passed her engineering degree in Electrical Branch from CET Bhubaneswar.

Her father who is native of Kuspanga village in Dhenkanal District has been working as Sr. Dy. General Manager (Electrical Engineer) in the Corporate Office of NALCO in Bhubanewar.

Notably, Susanta Kumar Nath, her paternal uncle, is a senior IPS officer and presently serving as IG of Police (Modernisation) in the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack.
