The latest SUH with strength to accommodate 12 persons (eight males and four females) was inaugurated by Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda.

Inaugurating the facility, the Minister said that poor people, who had been deserted by their family members and who lived on platforms or in places such as bus stands and railway stations will be provided shelter.

Currently under the National Urban Housing and Habitat Policy (NUHHP), 2007, the city has two SUHs running one each at Malisahi in Kharvela Nagar and near Kargil Road in Bhimpur area under Airfield police limits.
