3rd annual function of ‘Ninaad’ of RSP to be celebrated tomorrow

Rourkela, Sept 11: The annual function of ‘Ninaad’ the musical venture of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) will be celebrated at Civic Centre in the Steel City tomorrow.

It is worth mentioning here that under the guidance of GS Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RSP and a passionate music lover, ‘Ninaad’ was launched about three years ago in order to create a symphony in steel.

The idea behind the initiative was to hone and bring to the limelight the musical talents from among the employees as well as their family members. Since then the journey of Ninaad has been extremely exciting and eventful.

The initiative that was launched with a handful of artists, now boasts of having about 60 artists comprising employees from various department of the Steel Plant as well as talented spouses and children of many employees. It is a real delight to see how the people who make one of the sturdiest metals on earth like steel can be equally deft in creating a mellifluous mélange of music and melody.

The artists of Ninaad have performed in various mega cultural events of RSP. The programmes have got appreciation from various quarters and the artists have been invited by sister units to perform in their functions.

‘Ninaad’ has also been an excellent employee engagement initiative as it has given recognition as well as a platform to many of the employees to showcase their talents. Another interesting facet of the initiative is that many music enthusiasts who had lost touch with this divine art while going through the daily grind of life in a steel plant are now reviving their interest in music thereby adding a new meaning to life.

The Annual Day programme that will be held tomorrow will commence at 7 pm and is open to all. A blend of old classics and new popular songs will be presented by the artists on this occasion.
