Youth held for video graphing obscene videos in girls' bathroom

Bhubaneswar, Sept 11: After a day-long protest by the students of KIIT University in Odisha capital, the commissionerate police today arrested a 25-year-old youth on the charges of capturing obscene videos of a girl student at the Campus-VI hall bathroom with the help of his mobile phone installed inside it yesterday.

Accused
Rakesh Padhiary
The accused identified as Rakesh Padhiary of Gandarpur in Barang on outskirt of the city, was working as a daily labourer in the university.

The arrest of Padhiary was made by the Infocity police here after acting on an FIR lodged by the girl student today who had handed over the accused yesterday to the police after some girl students of the university caught red handed the culprit.

The student in their complaint had alleged that Padhiary was caught red handed while he was recording the obscene video footage of the girl with the help of his mobile phone camera which he had installed in the bathroom of the Campus-VI bathroom of the university.

“After taking the man into our custody who had videographed the obscene picture of our classmate, we had handed over the person to local police yesterday. But today we got to know that police has left the man instead of arresting him,” alleged a girl student of the university.

“The man has admitted of committing crime in taking obscene videos and photos. He was indulged in such crime since last month. We are afraid of whether the vulgar video clips and photos of us have been made viral in social website or not,” she questioned.

Failing to take any action in the incident by the local police, hundreds of students of the university protested this morning demanding arrest of the culprit.

Meanwhile police have arrested Padhiary from his native and is interrogating him to know whether he has circulated the video clips and photos in social media.
