Medical Camp from Feb 23

Rourkela: A team of social activists is going to organize the 6th Annual Free Mega Medical Camp at Pantha Nivas at Sector-5 in the city here from February 23 of this month.

The two-day camp would be inaugurated by Dr. S K Mishra, Director in-charge, Ispat General Hospital (IGH) while ADM Rourkela Rabindranath Mishra will be the chief guest on the occasion, social activist Raghu Bal told reporters here today.

Super specialist doctors from Kalinga Hospital, Bhubaneswar and eminent doctors of various branches such as Neurosurgery, Neurologist, CTVS, Cardiologist, Nephrologists, Joint Replacement, Oncosurgery, physician and Cosmetic surgery will attend the camp.

Last year as many as 1071 patients were recorded. More than 1200 patients are expected to turn up at the camp for check-up this year due to more number of doctors totals to 12. It is better for all patients to come with their old medical check-up reports/records so as to ease for these doctors to look after and in giving quick service to all patients, Bal added.

The check-up timings will be from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on both the days. It was totally free to all, he said.

Vedvyas Mela kicks off

Rourkela: The 105th Vedvyas Mela was kicked off at the Vedvyas temple on the outskirts of the steel city on Maha Shivratri here last evening. Briefing newsmen on the occasion, Rourkela ADM Rabindranath Mishra spoke on the importance of the Mela and venue saying that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the visitors. Besides lightning, health and sanitation measures, adequate police forces have been deployed to oversee law and order situation and traffic. Besides, fire tenders have been also deployed to tackle any fire mishap during the Mela. The Administration has also put up barricades along the rivers bank to restrict the devotees from taking bath, the ADM informed. The state-of-the-art Blood Cell Separator is a Mobile Collection System and operates on the highly updated apheresis technology. It is a highly mobile, compact and lightweight total apheresis system and technically advanced.
