Identify and nurture hidden talent: RSP CEO
Rourkela: “Talent is not limited to any
particular section of the society. It needs to be identified and nurtured,”
said G S Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP)
while addressing the annual day and prize distribution ceremony of Deepika
Ispat Sikshya Sadan (DISS) at Civic Centre here yesterday.
Prasad added that
RSP has set up the school with an aim of providing quality education for free
to underprivileged students of the Steel City. “We are adding new classes and
facilities to the school on a continuous basis. I am glad to see the students
of this school excel in various fields of endeavour and I am confident
more students shall carve a niche for themselves in the society,” he
observed.
The RSP CEO
was all praise for members of Deepika Mahila Sanghati for their efforts in
improving performance of the school. He said, “The governing body members have
actively contributed towards development of the school and their efforts are
praiseworthy.”
Manjari
Prasad, President of Deepika Mahila Sanghati (DMS) and Deepika Ispat Sikshya
Sadan (DISS) spoke on facilities being provided to the school. Wishing the
students a bright future, the President of the School said, “I hope to see the
students of the school earn success and recognition.”
Later, the
dignitaries gave away prizes to the students for excelling in various
academic and sports competitions.
The function
was coordinated by Niharika Bal while Nandita Mangaraj proposed a vote of thanks.
The programme began with the soulful rendering of a devotional song by the
students. The students presented a spectacular cultural programme at the end.
Among others,
S N Roy, ED (Works), D Basu, ED (P&A), R K Nehru, ED (MM), M K Das, ED
(Projects), Lalita Mohanty, Secretary, DMS and DISS and Dhruba Charan
Lenka, Principal of the School were also present.
