Curtains down on Rudra Dhara fest

The dance
performance by participants from various parts of the country and abroad left
the audience spellbound. The dance performance by Suprava Mishra, a dancer, guru,
choreographer and writer from Ahmedabad, a renowned exponent of Odissi
Classical Dance showcased combined tradition with innovation, classicism with
creativity and the ethic with contemporary.
Internationally
acclaimed BBC award-winning dancer and choreographer Anurekha Ghosh from the United
Kingdom was a perfect combination of classical and sufi tradition of Kathak
dance, which is a sublime blend of Persian and North Indian art. The precise
footwork, multiple pirouettes excited at lightning speed, sensitive and subtie
mime, brilliant rhythmic improvisation of Ghosh created the stage from
Stillness into Motion and from Silence into sound.
Rudradhara,
a unique attempt and a lesser known form of classical dance was performed by
Guru Debashis Pattnaik. It showcased the austerity of Tandava, the
quintessential masculine aspect of Indian classical dancing, which is a symbol
associated with Lord Shiva.
Besides, Amartya
Chatterjee’s Kathak, Rajdeep Banerjee’s Bharatnatyam, Ramayani Roy’s Kathakali,
Shaik Khaleel and his group’s Kuchipudi rocked the stage.

Subrat
Tarai, Minister of Commerce and Transport, Dr. Saroj Kanti Mishra, Director,
M&HS, RSP, Rourkela, Prasanna Kumar Mishra, Regional Manager, SBI,
Rourkela, Ajay Jena, DIPRO, Rourkela, Narayan Pati, GM, RSP, Rourkela were
among those present at the function.
