Week-long Army recruitment rally from April 8
Rourkela: The district administration today held a preparatory meeting at
ADM office for smooth conduct of a week-long army recruitment rally which will
commence from April 8 at Uditnagar Ground here.
Colonel
Manoj Mehta, Director Recruiting Officer, Army Recruitment Office, Sambalpur,
Rourkela ADM Rabindranath Mishra, government officials and police officers
deliberated on organisational issues for the upcoming rally.
The
administration discussed accommodation for candidates (approx 2000 daily),
provision of mobile/temporary toilets, water facility, light facility at
candidates’ camp, police deployment to prevent entry of touts, district
magistrate to look after all officials not to interfere with recruiting process,
placement of banners at important places to give information to candidates and
strict policing to check anti social elements, touts, miscreant on strategic
places like railways stations, bus stand and candidates camp and rally site.
Mehta informed
that the rally is meant for selection of suitable candidates to Indian Army
from 10 districts such as Angul, Balangir, Bargarh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal,
Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Sundargarh. The rally is expected
to see a turnout of around 13,000 candidates, he added.
The rally
will recruit youths for various posts- soldier in general duty, general duty
(Scheduled Tribe), dresser, veterinary science, technical, clerk/store keeper
technical, technical for Aviation Ammunition/Examiner and Nursing assistant.
Candidates
are required to register their names on the dates assigned to them between 0500
hrs and 0700 hrs. No candidates will be allowed to attend the rally if he
reports after 0700 hrs, added Mehta.
The ADM
Rourkela has assured all possible help to Mehta for smooth conduct of the rally
in Rourkela.
