The locals also informed that there has been a spurt in the consumption of drugs including brown sugar, charas, ganja and liquor.
Present at the gathering, social activists Ashok Kumar Panda urged the police to take stringent action against the drug peddlers. These factors addicted many people in these areas including the young ones, he added.
After taking down the inputs and grievances Sinha said “I have noted all complaints and very soon steps will be taken in curbing these problems. We all have to fight against these social evils.”
He also requested the people to dial 100 (Police Seva Kendra) in case of an emergency or at the time of filing an FIR.
“Without the identification of the person, the case will be registered and actions will be taken into consideration”, he added.
