XIMB celebrates National Entrepreneurship Summit, ‘Ignite-2013’

Bhubaneswar: X-SEED, the Entrepreneurship Cell of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), hosted its first annual National Entrepreneurship Summit- ‘Ignite 2013’ on Sunday here.

The summit witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of XIMB and other local Institutes as well as Local entrepreneurs.

On the occasion Prof. Rajeev Roy, an Associate Professor of Indian Institute Management (IIM), Raipur talked about Country’s need for entrepreneurs and the numerous opportunities that are about to come in students’ way in the next two decades. “We are always hearing stories of entrepreneurs with no formal education who have made it big in the world”, Roy said adding one should acquire the basics of business education and skills to think and analyse situations in a business context better.

Ms. Sanghamitra Jena, Founder of Eastern Treasure India Tours and a city-based entrepreneur spoke about confidence and idea are the keys for one in making him/her as a good entrepreneur. “One has to be determined and willing to stay the course no matter how hard the journey is and how many obstacles one face. A good entrepreneur learns how to create demand for their product or service but success takes time and patience is a virtue that we must all cultivate in ourselves” she added.

The event ended with a rousing question and answer session where speakers answered questions on the kinds of difficulties faced by young entrepreneurs, the scope of various sectors and even the choice between completing ones education and dropping out to chase one’s dreams.

Rajinish Menon, Director of Startups-DPE, Microsoft and Ayaskanta Mohanty, Managing Director, TATWA Technologies Ltd. were present on the occasion.
