Trade Expo makes business worth Rs. 3.5 lakh


Rourkela: The Rourkela Trade Expo had a business transaction of about Rs. 3.5 lakhs on the fourth day here today.

The 8-day fair which had begun on December 9, 2012 is being organized by the Expo Event Management Group (EEMG) at the Exhibition Ground at Sector-5 here.

As many as 92 stalls have been set up at the exhibition which is sponsored by the local spices company Grihasthi Masala.

“We have targeted a business transaction worth Rs. 15 lakh”, EEMG head Sanjib Nayak told PBD.

A variety of quality wooden and steel furniture by the traders and manufacturers from Western Odisha and the neighbouring states like Ghar Sanshar Mart, Rourkela, Amazing Home, Kolkata, Quality Furniture, Rourkela, Sharanpur Furniture, Uttar Pradesh and steel furniture by Raj Steel of Orampada and OMM Steel of Fertilizers, are on the display at the fair.

“These local steel furniture enterprises manufacture their products through small scale industries and entrepreneurship. The price of the household products range from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 75,000”, informed Nayak.

Apart from this, there are other stalls having branded home appliances like Kenstar products, Wings 3G, Ajanta products, Oreva Bulbs, Toshiba electronics, Kent Water purifier, Cook-Well cooking systems, Ekvira Air Cooler and Aluminium Ladder. Handloom products like Halchal Sarees, Rajasthani Bedsheets and Sambalpuri Sarees. Micra Health Guard items and Ayurvedic medicines stalls were also erected.

Besides Grihasthi Masala features different varieties of spices and masalas for households and Shrikhetra Masala having 20 per cent discount on its products like Besan, Sattu, Dalia, Chana fried, Tadka Mix and on others items.

The fair also has stalls of Silver Palace of Rourkela with different items like Jewelleries, gifts, payals, utensils, dinner sets, silver items, wedding stuffs, Puja gifts, cutlery and other items.

This apart, LIC, State Bank of India (SBI) and UCO Bank have also opened insurance and loans stalls at the fair.

Some traders also stalled their items on the grounds with products like exclusive collection of cushion cover, sofa cover, pillow cover, carpets, pardas and bedsheets.

A stall was also displayed for childrens items like CDs of Computer games, rhymes, spoken english, grammar and encyclopedia with price ranges from Rs. 90 to Rs. 800 attracting more and more childrens in doing normal business.

“The CDs were from Angels Vision Technology, New Delhi”, said trader Viswanath Jha. He said a business worth Rs. 7000 was carried out in these days on an expenditure cost of Rs. 45,000 on different collection of CDs that were displayed on the stall.

Till now thousands of people from in and around Rourkela had thronged to this fair for doing business, informed Nayak.
