5-day drama fest kickstarts

Rourkela: In an effort to give fillip to the dying art of drama, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi (OSNA) in association with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is organizing a five-day state-level Odia Theatre Festival in the Steel City which will continue till September 30.

Minister of State, Transport and Commerce, Subrat Tarai, inaugurated the festival last evening at Civic Centre here. Tarai recalled a time when drama once was popular and nowadays it is losing its importance. He stressed the need for organizing such festival.

The event was presided by Dr. Sarat Pujari, President, Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and eminent Theatre and Cine personality, Odisha, said drama plays a real picture on stage and to act it and to be a character in a play requires dedication and hard work.
