NIT Rourkela to hold TEDx on Nov 4

Rourkela: TEDxNIT Rourkela will gather nine eminent enthusiasts, contributors and visionaries to speak and share ideas at an event to be organized on November 4 at Bhubaneswar Behera Auditorium, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

Keeping pace with the rapidly changing world, students, entrepreneurs, thinkers and visionaries from within and out of NIT Rourkela are going to be at the forefront of this change moving forward, called TEDxNITRourkela. TED, an annual event where the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about, stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design- three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping the future. And in fact, the event is broader still, showcasing ideas that matter in any discipline.

TEDxNITRourkela provides a platform for sharing ideas which benefits the community. TEDx events creates community and action and will bring together tomorrow’s thinkers and doers to discuss ‘Engaging the World’ with a goal of having a positive impact.

The event will be co-ordinated by Yogesh Kumar Modi, B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials engineering, TEDx licensee and Curator, under the guidance of Literary and cultural Society of the Student Activity Centre of the Institute.

Rourkela: ‘A picture says a thousand words’ is an adage that aptly describes photographs by  A N Maniyappan, which were on display at 8 th National Conference of Steel Worker’s Federation of India (SWFI) at Bhanja Bhawan. TechnoPrep launches offline NEET classes in Rourkela

Rourkela: TechnoPrep, a premier entrance coaching website in the country, announced launching of its offline classes exclusively for NEET (Medical) coaching in Rourkela. Briefing media persons here at Rourkela Club, Brahmanshu Mishra, Chairman, TechnoPrep, said “We received repeated requests from students and their parents from Rourkela to provide quality coaching for medical entrance. Developmental trial of Astra missile conducted

Rourkela: India today conducted developmental trial of its indigenously developed beyond visual range (BVR) air-to-air missile ‘Astra’ from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, about 15 km from Balasore. The sophisticated missile was test-fired from a launcher in launch pad-2 of the ITR at about 01.25 PM targeting a flying object being supported by a pilotless target air-craft ‘Lakshya’, defence sources said. The single stage, solid fuelled ‘Astra’ missile is more advanced in its category than the contemporary BVR missiles and is capable of engaging and destroying highly manoeuvrable supersonic aerial targets. The 3.8-metre long missile, having a diameter of 178 mm with an overall launch weight of 160 kg, can carry a warhead containing conventional explosives weighing 15 kg.
