Police Seva Kendra inaugurated
Inauguration of Police Seva Kendra by Rourkela SP Himanshu Lal |
Rourkela: Rourkela SP Himanshu Lal inaugurated a Police Seva Kendra (PSK),
at the Traffic Tower Police Station premises here yesterday.
Speaking on
the occasion, Lal said that the PSK through its online crime and criminal
tracking network (CCTN) and systems, will be of great help to the Steel City
police in attending crime related complaints of the people.
The
initiative of the Rourkela Police District to set up the PSK has come following
the decision of the State Government to install such centres in Khurda and
Angul police districts in the first phase for crime investigation and tracking
of criminals by facilitating easy recordings, retrieval, analysis and sharing
of information.
“Availability
of quick and timely information about different facets of police functions to
the right functionaries can bring in a sea change both in crime and criminal
handling and operations”, the SP pointed out.
A person can
lodge the FIR directly through the PSK online through an officer of
Sub-Inspector rank. The concerned officer of the PSK will send the complaint to
the respective police stations in handling of the cases. The PSK which will
provide 24 hour service to the people, has been provided to 10 police stations
out of a total of 23 under Rourkela Police district.
One can file
his complaint either at the centre or by sending an SMS.
The 10
police stations that have been linked to the PSK are, Sector-15 police station
with mobile number 82802-72223, Sector-4 Mahila PS (82802-72224), Tangarpali PS
(82802-72225), Raghunathpali PS (82802-72226), Chhend PS (82802-72227),
