Five rescued inmates absconding

Rourkela: At least five out of 20 inmates sent to Vedbyas Gurukula Ashram after being rescued from Sarba Bhautik Anath Sishu Ashram, are allegedly absconding. Further two of them who had left for home have not reached yet.

Parents of these orphans today demonstrated outside the ADM office. It may be recalled that the district administration had rescued 84 inmates from Anath Sishu Ashram following allegation of sexual harassment to girls. They were sent to different child care centres in the district.

The agitating parents blamed the absconding of their children on the negligence in care. They demanded that the administration should not seal the Sarba Bhautik Anath Sishu Ashram and bring all inmates to this ashram.

They also accused the administration of playing a dirty politics in this matter. They also submitted a memorandum to ADM in this connection.
