RSP CEO advises children to follow Chacha Nehru’s ideals

Rourkela: G S Prasad, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), today urged school children to follow the ideals of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru so that his vision of a strong nation could be fulfilled. Prasad said this while inaugurating the Children’s Day function here today.

Children’s Day was celebrated with much fanfare by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Ispat Stadium here today, with more than 1,500 students from various schools of the steel city participating in the function. “Rourkela Steel Plant exists due to vision of this great visionary leader.

Pandit Nehru set in motion many plans and schemes for the benefit of the children which have had a far reaching impact on nation building. RSP is also following Panditji’s ideals and providing every kind support for the growth and development of children,” Prasad said while elaborating on the various schemes and projects launched by RSP to promote education amongst the underprivileged children of Rourkela and its periphery areas. A cultural programme comprising riveting dances, fascinating fancy dress and spellbinding pyramid formation, was presented by students of various schools which enthralled the huge audience.

The RSP CEO gave away prizes to the best performing troupes of march-past and dance. Soon after, fruits were distributed among children undergoing treatment at the RSP-run Ispat General Hospital.
