BJP’s organisational polls in Sundargarh completed

Rourkela: The organizational election of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Sundargarh district has been completed. Party sources said, the district was divided into three segments- Panposh, Bonai and Sundargarh organizational districts.

All the three incumbent presidents- Dhiren Senapati of Panposh, Manoj Kumar Pradhan of Bonai and Sahadev Xaxa of Sundargarh have been re-elected for another term 2012-14. Elections at three places were peaceful.

Rourkela: ‘A picture says a thousand words’ is an adage that aptly describes photographs by  A N Maniyappan, which were on display at 8 th National Conference of Steel Worker’s Federation of India (SWFI) at Bhanja Bhawan. The 68-year old man from Ernakulam district of Kerela, exhibited his rare photographs and collected ones on the theme ‘In defence of Civilization’. The exhibition featured 400 collections of photographs on a wide range of subjects. Focus on strengthening basic policing: Sinha

Rourkela: Newly appointed Superintendent of Police, Amitendra Nath Sinha, said that he will give top to basic policing to deal with law and order and prevention of road accident. Interacting with media persons, Sinha said that a plan is being made to carry out policing with the involvement of all citizens of Rourkela. Cooperation from all sections of society is required for a peaceful, disciplined society, he added. “For better policing, we have launched a website www.rourkelapolice.in with provision of receiving complaints on-line,” the SP noted. “We have also decided to put information boards with telephone numbers of all police stations at all tourist places in a bid to curb anti-social activities. In case of any emergency, one can dial 100 to seek help from Police Seva Kendra (PSK) which was made operational in December,” Sinha added.
