Panel lauds RSP for consistent performance

Rourkela: The panel of judges for the Prime Minister’s Trophy for the best integrated Steel Plant for the year, 2010-11 congratulated the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on achieving consistent improvement in the production performance.

It is worth mentioning here that the panel of judges, which is present at Rourkela for evaluation of the performance of the Steel plant for the Prime Minister’s Trophy, interacted with G S Prasad, CEO, RSP and other senior officers of the Steel plant during a presentation session held at the CEO’s Conference Hall today.

The panel comprising Dr. S R Jain, Former Chairman, SAIL, Dr. T Mukherjee, Former Deputy MD, TATA Steel, Prof. P K Sen, Department of Metal Engineering and Metal Science, IIT Kharagpur, Dr. V Ramaswamy, Former ED, RDCIS (SAIL), and K K Nair, National Treasurer, INTUC attended the session. Two other judges namely, Dr. B N Singh, Former CMD, RINL and Prof. N K Chadha, Dean, Department of Psychology, University of Delhi also joined the panel later in the evening.

Dr Ramaswamy lauded RSP’s initiatives to adhere to quality requirements of the customers, while Nair said that RSP is re-defining excellence in the real sense of the word.

Soon after the meeting, the panel of judges visited various plant units as well as modernization sites. They visited the CSR Department and thereafter the Ispat General Hospital. A presentation was made at the HRD Centre on Quality Circle, which was followed by an interaction session with cross section of employees, including winners of various national level awards.
