‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive’ held in NIT Rourkela

Rourkela: Entrepreneurship Cell, NIT Rourkela in association with Entrepreneurship Cell, Indian Institute of technology, Kharagpur organized a one day ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD)’ on October 31, 2012.

The objective of the program was to spread the awareness about the need, scope and importance of becoming Techno-Entrepreneur. The session was enlightened by speakers like Ashwini Rath, CEO and Founder-Batoi Systems Pvt. Ltd., Sunil Kayal, Vice president, Rourkela Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Uday Patel, alumni of NIT Rourkela & owner of Rourkela Fabrications Pvt. Ltd.

The session started with discussions on objective of EAD by students of E-Cell, IIT Kharagpur. This EAD was 16th of the 20 sessions to be organized across India by E-Cell, IIT Kharagpur. The session witnessed the gracious presence of R K Sinha, mentor, E-Cell who welcomed the speakers and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and becoming the job creator. It was certainly an enlightening session and an interactive build up by the audience who made it highly successful. About 200 students participated in the event.

Entrepreneurship Cell, NIT Rourkela is going to hold in flagship event, Arthayan in the upcoming week during November 9 to November 11 and an awareness session like these would certainly be an eye opener and boost up the spirit of student participation in the event.

The cell is to hold a number of events that would include Business Plan competition, Business Simulation Competition, Market-O-Mania- an event for local entrepreneurs/ventures to give them the benefit of online marketing, Seal the Deal- bidding event and online virtual stock market-Sharemandi which has started on 2nd November.

All these events are aimed at creating a positive impact and explore the possibilities that entrepreneurship is also a career option for engineering graduates and finally convert the job seekers into a job creator.
