Students exhorted to nurture competitive mindset

Rourkela: Students were urged to nurture a competitive mindset so as to achieve success in life. Shyam Bhakta Mishra, Sub-Collector, Panposh, advised this to students while speaking at the District-level Shishu Mahotsav ‘Suravi-2012’ held at Government High School here today.

“Competition always plays a key role in success while students should focus on hard work, confidence and luck,” Mishra added.

Sangram Keshari Swain, District Project Coordinator (DPC), SSA, Sundargarh, state that teachers have an important role in shaping the future of students. Swain also underscored the need for primary education to all children to achieve the target of a 100 per cent educated society.

Swain further said every teacher should enact various curricular activities along with education in all schools in order to create intelligence and innovative mindset in all students.

A cultural programme on ‘Let’s go to school’ was staged by the students of Uditnagar High School. Students, teachers, BRCCs, SIs and CRCCs from 17 blocks and four municipalities in Sundargarh district participated in the programme, organised by Sarva Shiksha Abhijan (SSA).

Winners in five categories of competitions in Senior and Junior level on elocution on ‘Corruption free society’, painting ‘Save the Nature’, creative writing, patriotic song, quiz and debate were distributed prizes.

Among dignitaries Bisikesan Naik, Manjula Kumari Ratha, Sachidananda Nayak, Rashmibala Routaray, Gouri Pradhan and Ajay Kumar Jena were present.
